" Who dares to teach must never cease to learn."
                                                              John C. Dana

Welcome

Over the past seven weeks we have learned from one another by sharing our successes and failures in the classroom both as students and as facilitators. We have looked at the characteristics of adult learners and the responsibilities of the instructor. We have also examined the advantages and disadvantages of various instructional techniques.

In week 6, we focused on Icebreakers/Energizers, Lectures, and Guest Speakers/Experts.

In week 7, we turned our attention to Group Discussion, Small Group Work, and Questioning.

Now in week 8, we examine Brainstorming, Case Studies, and Fishbowls.

Following this online presentation you should be able to:
1. Describe how to use Brainstorming, Case Studies, and Fishbowls in an adult learning/training situation.
2. List two advantages and two disadvantages for each instructional technique.

How it works

On this website, we have given each instructional technique its own page. Please click on the various tabs listed at the top of this home page to find out more about Brainstorming, Case Studies and Fishbowls.

Once you have worked your way through this online presentation, we ask that you post your answer to one of the activity questions in the Moodle Week 8 Discussion Forum.

We also welcome your feedback. If you have any comments about our project, you can post them to the discussion forum, or you can participate in our online poll on the conclusion page of our website.

Thank you in advance for your participation. We hope you enjoy our presentation.

Sincerely,
Group #3 (Daniela, Darin, Elizabeth, Gracia Leigh, Mike, Pat, and William)
